Treacl : The main purpose of this course is to allow learners who have some basic knowledge of computers and their use to progress and become more familiar with aspects including the internet, e.g. emails, social networking, shopping, banking and form filling on line. This knowledge will enable learners to embrace the Government’s current rationale of applying “online” for services and benefits. Learners will also develop their knowledge of all aspects of computers, such as operating systems, software and programs in order to upgrade their skills and allow them to function in the evolving world of technology.

Recall : This course is designed to introduce learners to the basic principles of creating a digital Scrapbook using dedicated software.  Learners will use scanners to include personal photographs and will also access the internet to acquire images and content for their projects. The learners will be able to take away the completed scrapbooks on a variety of digital media, e.g. disc & memory stick, therefore providing a storytelling experience for them and their families.

Dice : This course will allow learners who have some basic knowledge of computers and their use to have first contact with emails & Internet and gain confidence with their use.  Learners will become familiar with terminology used to search and obtain information from the Internet and become comfortable with surfing, downloading and communicating.  They will recognise that the internet is not a safe place and take steps to become familiar and responsible for taking care of their surfing environment whilst shopping, banking, etc.  This will allow learners to upgrade their skills and allow them to function in the evolving world of technology.

Welcome to Computers : The main objective of this course is to allow learners to take the first steps in using a computer and build confidence in its use.  They will become familiar with the basic and intermediate functionality of a computer, including hardware/software and the Operating System Windows.

BSL Level 1 : This course is an introduction to Deaf Awareness and British Sign Language.  There are three Units, and this course will cover the first – Unit 101.  This course is suitable for those who wish to work with the deaf/hearing impaired in the community, or simply have a personal interest in British Sign Language.  Accreditation is available on this course via Signature.

Computers for Carers : This pilot course is to allow learners who are carers to take the first steps in using a computer and build confidence in its use.  They will become familiar with the basic and intermediate functionality of a computer, including hardware/software and the Operating System Windows.
